Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge Clean-up **TEST POST**

Join Friends of Oaks Bottom, SOLVE and Portland Parks and Recreation to keep Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge clean for trail users and wildlife! Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is a 163-acre floodplain wetland that sits along the east bank of the Willamette River, OR, and is the largest remaining natural area within the lower reach of the Willamette-providing necessary habitat for fish and wildlife. Native wildlife populations include threatened salmon and more than 175 species of birds. Everyone is welcome; no experience is necessary!


Date & Time: Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am.

Advanced Registration Required: Pre-registration is required! Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time so you can sign our electronic waiver to help avoid crowding during check-in.

Meeting Location: Meet at Sellwood Riverfront Park in the grassy area between the parking lot and the off-leash dog area. MAP

Volunteers will walk to Oaks Bottom after a brief orientation. Sellwood Riverfront Park is accessible by TRIMET using the #70 or #99 bus.

What’s Provided: Volunteers will be provided with vinyl gloves, heavy duty garbage bags and litter grabbers.

What to Bring: Please come wearing a face covering, comfortable closed-toed shoes, and a filled reusable water bottle. Pants and long sleeves are encouraged. Bring gloves and a litter grabber if you have them. Otherwise, we will provide them for you. Volunteers are required to wear a face covering throughout the event.

Bathrooms: There is a public restroom at Sellwood Riverfront park.

Accessibility: The clean-up will take place on dirt trails and in fields, which may not be accessible for wheelchairs.
