Friends of Oaks Bottom Work Party
Please join Portland Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Oaks Bottom for a planting and non-native plant removal event at Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge.
December 6, 2025 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Help keep Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge healthy with Portland Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Oaks Bottom. We will be planting and mulching native shrubs to benefit the health of this ecosystem and provide more habitat for local wildlife. If there’s time, we will remove non-native plants. Gloves, tools, and instruction will be provided.

Meeting Location
Park at and enter the part at the North Parking Lot & Trailhead. Enter the trail which will be marked with a white A-frame sign on the south side of the parking lot. There will be about a 10 minute walk downhill on a paved path to the Tadpole pond which is our our meeting site. Follow the event signs and look for the green canopy.

Location Descriptions
Our group will be working mostly on flat but uneven terrain.
Parking
There is a small lot at the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge North Parking Lot. If the parking lot is full, there is additional parking along SE Milwaukie Avenue.
