Friends of Oaks Bottom Nature Walk

Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge Guided Nature Walk

Friends of Oaks Bottom has scheduled another nature walk guided by our members for Saturday, August 29th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. As usual, we’ll leave from the Sellwood Park parking lot (7th and Malden) and walk down the bluff to do a circuit of the wildlife refuge’s trails, including the Springwater Corridor. Our focus will be on the wildlife, plants (native and non-native), and some history.

There are no restrooms along the route, and there is a descent and ascent of about 60 feet on the bluff. Please come appropriately dressed for the weather on the day. We proceed at the pace of a banana slug, quietly observing wildlife, so don’t expect a vigorous workout! If you have binoculars, please bring them!

There is no signup. Please just appear at the parking lot at 9:00 a.m. If you are late, you can head down the bluff and then along the west edge of the South Meadow to catch up. Interested youngsters are welcome, but please leave your pet at home!

The nature walks are free, but donations are gratefully accepted!
