Friends of Oaks Bottom Nature Walk
Dear Friends of Oaks Bottom,
Friends of Oaks Bottom has scheduled another nature walk guided by our members for Friday, July 11th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. We’ll leave from the Sellwood Park parking lot (7th and Malden) and walk down the bluff to do a circuit of the wildlife refuge’s trails, including the Springwater Corridor. Our focus will be on the birds and plants (native and non-native). We’ll also discuss the complications around the sudden drop in water level of the main pond.
There are no restrooms along the route, and there is a descent and ascent of about 60 feet on the bluff. Please come appropriately dressed for the weather on the day. If you have binoculars, please bring them!
We ask that you RSVP to this email (friendsofoaksbottom@gmail.com) if you plan on coming. Make sure you give your full name and the number of people in your party. Interested youngsters are welcome, but please leave your pet at home!
The nature walks are free, but donations are gratefully accepted!
